All wdb projects are overseen by our Creative Director, Sean Blakeley.
The son of a classically trained sculptor, Sean spent his formative years growing-up on a artist commune just outside London.
After a brief interlude to gain a history degree and work at the Houses of Parliament, Sean moved into more creative pursuits and designed his first website in 1998.
“The first time I saw the internet I was instantly excited by what was possible. I’ve always been fascinated by the notion of movement in art & design and, although I now cringe at some of my early designs, even in these I can see where I was heading”.
In 2001, Sean moved into film special effects, working on a number of big-budget films including Batman Begins, James Bond and 2 Harry Potter films. But he continued to design and develop websites and, in 2006, formed his own company, idigit design. Initially, the company offered film and online design – but Sean found himself increasingly drawn to a return to website design.
An enjoyably busy period ensued; creating some memorable and innovative websites. In late 2008, Sean completed the shift back to focus solely upon web design and changed the focus of idigit design (renaming the company iDIGIT Web Design).
In early 2009, Sean created Website Design Brighton – aimed at providing companies with the opportunity to tap into the expertise in his beloved home town of Brighton.
Sean continues to live in Brighton and struggles to think of anywhere else in the world he’d rather live.
